SOHO, NEW YORK CITY
Wooster Street
In the heart of Paris, Le Marais
Adjacent to Place des Vosges
The Marais is a historic neighborhood located in the heart of Paris. Its history traces back to antiquity when the surrounding areas were marshes and wetlands. During the medieval period, the district developed into a center for commerce and culture, with churches, abbeys, and mansions.
In subsequent centuries, the Marais went through various transformations. In the 17th century, it became home to aristocratic residences, many private mansions, and palaces. During the French Revolution, it witnessed significant historical events, including the storming of the Bastille in 1789... After being less prominent in the 19th century, the Marais became, in the early 20th century, a popular area for artists and writers, with a bohemian community emerging around Rue des Rosiers.
Today, the Marais is vibrant and cosmopolitan, hosting numerous shops, restaurants, and art galleries. It remains a place of great historical and cultural importance, with many tourist sites, museums, and monuments.
A neighborhood where creativity shapes identity.

HISTORY OF WOOSTER STREET
Collapsible content
At the beginning of the 20th century, Wooster Street lay at the heart of an industrial SoHo, lined with cast-iron warehouses, textile workshops, and bustling factories. As the industrial era faded, the area was reborn in the mid-century as a haven for pioneering artists who transformed its vast lofts into studios and helped shape New York’s contemporary art scene.
Today, Wooster Street stands as one of SoHo’s most iconic addresses, where artistic heritage meets modern culture, design, and creativity. It is within this unique energy that Maison Fleuret has chosen to establish its New York presence.
