SOHO, NEW YORK CITY
Wooster Street
In the heart of Saint-Germain
The Left Bank lifestyle
Our initial workshops are situated in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of Paris's oldest districts, located on the left bank of the Seine. Its history dates back to antiquity when the Romans constructed a paved road that traversed the region. The district became a significant intellectual and religious center in the Middle Ages, with its abbey, founded in 558, becoming one of Paris's wealthiest and most influential.
Over the centuries, the area continued to attract artists, writers, and intellectuals. In the 20th century, Saint-Germain-des-Prés became home to renowned cafes and bookstores frequented by personalities like Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Francis Scott Fitzgerald, Boris Vian... It remains a symbol of Paris's intellectual and artistic life, known for its typical streets, essential sites and squares, restaurants, art galleries, and boutiques celebrating refinement and the art of living.
A neighborhood where creativity shapes identity.

HISTORY OF WOOSTER STREET
Collapsible content
At the beginning of the 20th century, Wooster Street lay at the heart of an industrial SoHo, lined with cast-iron warehouses, textile workshops, and bustling factories. As the industrial era faded, the area was reborn in the mid-century as a haven for pioneering artists who transformed its vast lofts into studios and helped shape New York’s contemporary art scene.
Today, Wooster Street stands as one of SoHo’s most iconic addresses, where artistic heritage meets modern culture, design, and creativity. It is within this unique energy that Maison Fleuret has chosen to establish its New York presence.
